New Switchgear and 2.5 MW Emergency Diesel Generator

EETN completed a 1 year project to upgrade electrical distribution system and emergency power generation for the Carl Vinson VAMC in Dublin, GA. The project included installation of a 2.5MW diesel generator and switchgear that incorporated parallel operation with the sites currently installed 2.5MW diesel generator. The install also included controls for the 21 additional emergency generators on the campus in a power and load shed scheme that maximized the ability of the hospital to withstand extended utility power outages.

“This was a challenging new endeavor for our team. Most of our business is in solar PV installation, but the similarities between solar PV and emergency power generation gave us the confidence to strike out on this new path.” said Terry Hamer, EETN Director of Operations “This project went relatively smooth. It is a testament to the quality of people we have solving problems every day.”

The project was completed in partnership with Nixon Power who supplied the switchgear, generator and technical support to prepare the EETN for success.
